Week end 29.5.2011

Things have been a little slower on the Maze this past week, around the lakes it has been very windy which has kept the carp down.   However, even with the slightly windy weather we have seen two 40lb and eight 30lb Carp successfully landed.  Robert Hayes from Bristol landed Stretch Mark on Peg 13 at 43lb and also a 22lb Common,  28lb 6oz Mirror and three other smaller Carp, well done Robert!  Also in the forty's George Bartlett from Bristol having a change from his usual Peg 10 landed 6 Carp all from Peg 9.  These included Martinita at 40lb, Joel at 38lb, Sore Tail at 37lb, Joseph a 28lb Common a 23and 17lb Common all using Hard Hookers. Chris Harrison from Nottingham landed Lynn a 32lb 12oz Mirror using N-Gage glugged over a bed of Halibut pellets.  Dave the 'tritian' from Bristol scored a massive hit by enticing Donna a 34lb 8oz Mirror onto the bank she hasn't been seen for the last two years, it was good to catch-up with her!  He also managed to land Lynn and both fish were caught using CC Moores Meteor.  Kev from Bristol fishing Peg 10 had a 32lb 8oz Mirror using Live System.  Mike Barlow from Crediton on his first week of a two week session has (so far) four Carp in the bag who were, Rylie a 32lb 1oz Mirror, a 29lb 2oz Common, a 25lb Mirror and a 16lb 6oz Mirror all from Peg 12.  His fishing 'Buddy' Bob Hern from Tiverton had two Commons weighing in at 23lb 4oz and 19lb 10oz.  Very well done to all those fishermen who managed to rack-up 12 different 20lb'ers taking into account the windy conditions you all deserve a 'pat on the back!'. Jades and Joshes lakes are still fishing well as several good upper 20lb'ers were landed and a special mention to Roy Brough of Atherstone for landing a 35lb Mirror and David Wearing's 32lb 5oz Mirror.
